I’m Melanie Herriot.
I’m a Makeup Artist and Hair Stylist based in Edinburgh, Scotland but available throughout the whole of Scotland or even further afield if you require.
I launched Melanie Herriot Hair & Makeup Styling after training at the prestigious Academy of Makeup in Glasgow. My time there gave me the opportunity to learn from some of the best creatives in the industry; Sara Hill and Kat Mcswein, just to name a few. Over the years I have established my signature style which leaves you feeling like you, but with a little extra glow and a little bit of glam.
In my opinion, one look does not fit all…
I love to be creative and nothing excites me more than customising looks specifically for you, your event or your professional projects (except eating cakes of course). I want to work together to create the best look for YOU, complimenting your features and your individual style. I can also work with a team of creatives, to any hair or makeup brief for fashion, editorial or commercial projects.

My Story
I am from a wee town just outside Edinburgh but now live in the lovely South Queensferry. I have always had an interest in health and beauty and hold a BSc Honours in Food Nutrition & Health. This has provided me with the scientific background on all the nutrients you need to give your hair and skin a natural healthy glow.
After graduating university in 2011, I caught the travel bug and landed a job Teaching English in South Korea. I had an amazing four years living and working in another culture and had the opportunity to travel all over Asia. The Korean beauty industry is huge and it really fuelled my passion to pursue a career in hair and makeup when I came home . I was immersed in innovative cosmetics and make-up obsessed koreans, and saw how much fun can be had with the vast amounts of products available to us.
Since training with the Academy of Makeup, I have continued to fuel my passion and am lucky enough to call this my job. On top of transforming lovely ladies for special events, and beautiful brides for their big day, I have great fun creating looks for fashion, editorial and commercial shoots. Recent clients include TedTalks, Easy Jet, Famous Grouse, Iolla, and The Scotland Shop.
